Hello, and welcome to Genie. We are a registered charity that provides support for deaf people and their families. We provide free services to families across Greater Manchester, including family support, parent workshops and friendly groups and events for Children and Families too.
Please explore the website to find out more about what we do, or come along to our family centre and say hello! The term "deaf" used in our information, refers to those who are deaf, hard of hearing, mild hearing loss, hearing impaired, speech user, lip reader, sign language user; everyone is welcome!
In 1996, a deaf lady called Jeanie Robinson, left a generous gift in her will for deaf people and their families.
In 2005, the money was used to start a project for deaf people. Genie Networks was named after Jeanie, and became a
registered charity in 2007. We have worked tirelessly to honour Jeanie’s kind donation and provide better services for deaf
people and their families.
